CUPERTINO, CA – September 22, 2009 – RMI® Corporation, a leading provider of high performance processors for communications and media-rich applications, announced today that its market-leading Au1250™ series of Ultra Low-Power processors has been selected to power next-generation intelligent real-time energy monitoring systems from Threshold Corporation. Threshold’s innovative energy-monitoring products provide users with the intelligence to monitor, manage and minimize energy consumption in the digital home. In conjunction with this collaboration between the companies, Threshold is porting its innovative energy monitoring software suite to RMI’s Ultra Low-Power Application Developers Kit (ADK).
RMI’s Au1250-based Application Developers Kit provides original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) with a high performance, low power Linux based platform for rapid development of compelling enterprise, media-rich and industrial applications. The RMI ADK solution leverages the power-optimized RMI Au1250™ series of connected ultra low power processors giving OEMs and original design manufacturers (ODMs) the flexibility and the tools necessary to develop and deliver a complete high performance, connected system. The availability of this cost-effective development platform has allowed Threshold to accelerate its time to market for its Au1250-based devices.
